6 Ensure environmental sustainability

Where we are?

There is some progress observed in terms of ensuring environmental sustainability. However, due to the impact of human activity, about 70 percent of surface water and a large share of groundwater resources are no longer a source of safe drinking water. In 2012, 4.3 million tons of pollutants were emitted into the air. To achieve the goal, it is necessary to improve the management of natural resources, pursue a consistent environmental policy, and secure gradual environmentally friendly modernization of production.
