  • Every Drop Matters

    Every Drop Matters is designed by Coca-Cola Foundation and United Nations Development Programme as a regional partnership initiative in the countries of Europe and CIS, aiming at increasing access to safe drinking water, facilitating the use of environmentally sound industrial technologies, and promote responsible water resource management by outreach and awareness raising activities.

  • Second Phase of the EU/UNDP Project “Support to the Regional Development of Crimea”

    In August 2010 UNDP launched a two year European Union funded Project in Crimea to build the capacity of an institution, the Regional Development Agency (RDA), set up by the Crimean Government. The main objective of this project was to assist the Agency in becoming institutionally mature and financially viable, in order to effectively work with all partners and contribute to the sustainable regional development of Crimea.

  • Sustainable Development in Crimea: Transformational Models for Rural Territories and Advisory Services

    The goal of the project is to enhance the capacities of the Crimean local authorities to address development challenges in the region, through evidence-based policies and implementation of tested sustainable development models in Crimea. This project takes into account the work carried out by UNDP in Crimea, through Support to the Regional Development of Crimea, Community-Based Approach to Local Development, Crimea Integration and Development Programme, and Human Security Monitoring and Public Dialogue projects to promote sustainable growth and regional development.

  • Human Security Monitoring and Public Dialogue for Socio-Economic Development and Conflict Prevention in Crimea

  • Municipal Governance and Sustainable Development Programme

    UNDP Project “Municipal Governance and Sustainable Development Programme” aims at building capacity for political participation of the local communities and municipalities into decision making process and using this capacity for multi-stakeholders cooperation and multi-sectoral interventions geared towards strengthening of urban/ social/ economic/ environmental governance ultimately leading to sustainable development. The Project works at the level of communities, municipal and national levels.

  • Community-based Approach to Local Development III

    The Community-based Approach to Local Development (CBA) project promotes sustainable socio-economic development at local level by strengthening participatory governance and fostering community-based initiatives throughout Ukraine.It mobilizes local authorities, community organizations and private sector to plan and carry out together projects aimed at improving the living conditions of people in urban and rural areas.

OUR WORK - LOCAL DEVELOPMENT

The 1996 Constitution of Ukraine established democratic decentralization as a fundamental principle that has served as the basis for organizing local government. The Constitution clearly states that people, not the state, are the source of all power. Turning these constitutional principles into reality has been a work-in-progress.
