UNDP assists the Government, civil society and people of Ukraine in advancing democratic policies and practices needed to accelerate progress on sustainable human development; empowering civil society; promoting decentralization and local governance; advocating for human rights and gender equality; ensuring that all Ukrainian citizens can enjoy access to justice; and supporting anti-corruption efforts in Ukraine.
UNDP will continue focusing on the promotion of open government practices, rule of law and human rights, greater transparency and accountability at all levels of the government as well as citizens' engagement in policy- and decision-making processes.more
Projects and Initiatives
The Project aims at strengthening capacities of the Ombudsperson’s Office to contribute to the reform agenda, implementing its mandates, and responding to human rights challenges in Ukraine, while mobilizing national authorities and human rights defenders to improve the overall human rights record of the country. more
The challenges and failures of the Ministry of Health’s public procurement and supply programme resulted in a two-year gap of available medicine in the country from 2013-2015. At the request of the Ministry of Health, this project will procure a range of medicines and related medical products as an emergency measure in 2015 and ongoing years as needed. The programme will also build the capacity needed to support a transparent and cost-effective procurement system for the Ministry. more
