The Development Assistance Database (DAD) was launched today at the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine. To support fulfilling of the governmental obligations under the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness and Transparency and to contribute to better aid coordination, planning and results monitoring of the international assistance in Ukraine, UNDP responded to the request of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine to assist in developing and utilizing Development Assistance Database (DAD). In April 2012 the project “Support to better coordination and management of international aid/assistance (Development Assistance Database - DAD)” was launched jointly by the Ministry and UNDP.

The database allows not only tracking and monitoring of existing technical assistance projects but can also serve as a powerful and comprehensive policy coordination and analysis tool to facilitate donor alignment behind country-driven strategies in line with the OECD Agreement on Aid Effectiveness. In line with the principals of openness and transparency the database will also provide transparent access and effective use of the some information on the ongoing development activities to the general public.

“The Development Assistance Database  is the most widely implemented solution for Aid Management, Public Investment and National Budgeting. It has been established in more than 35 countries world-wide to promote transparency and accountability of funds, results-driven decision-making, and aid effectiveness.”- underlined Inita Pauloviča, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative.
