May 12, 2017

Impact-driven ventures from 17 countries are encouraged to apply to the acceleration program

Impact Hub and UNDP are announcing the launch of the second edition of Accelerate2030, an international cross-border scaling program for impact-driven ventures. This year, ventures from 17 countries across 4 continents are encouraged to apply to this unique acceleration program: Venezuela, Colombia, Guatemala, Brasil, Ghana, Mali, Rwanda, Mexico, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Ukraine, Turkey, Armenia, Myanmar, Philippines, Cambodia and Malaysia.

The ventures must have successful track record and contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. The applications could be submitted till June 2, 2017.

Ten entrepreneurs, selected with the support of the global Impact Hub network, will have the opportunity to get tailored scaling support for 9-months and present their ventures at the Social Good Summit Geneva, Switzerland, in October 2017. During their stay in Geneva they will be connected with a dynamic ecosystem of impact investors, representatives from international organizations and governments, experts from the global supply chain and fellow entrepreneurs – all committed to scaling innovative ideas that accelerate the achievement of the SDGs.

“We are pleased with the fact that Ukraine has been chosen one of 17 countries worldwide to participate in Accelerate 2030. This is a great opportunity to showcase the Ukrainian social enterprises and their SDG-oriented solutions at national and international level. Recognizing the driving power of entrepreneurship in pursuing SDGs, A2030 will help promote locally and spread internationally the innovative solutions to serve ever larger communities. We invite the Ukrainian enterprises to apply and seize this unique opportunity to accelerate and internationalize,” said Blerta Cela, UNDP Deputy Country Director.

Last year, Accelerate2030 was successfully prototyped in 10 countries, receiving 177 applications while spreading awareness on the role of the #futureofbusiness in the 2030 Agenda. Together with partners Accelerate2030 has provided customized coaching and mentoring support to the international finalists and, amongst other achievements, facilitated an investment in the range 300K – 1 Mill CHF. This year Accelerate2030 is expanding the reach of the programme to 17 countries.
