Employment and Entrepreneurship in eastern Ukraine
One of the priority areas for UNDP in eastern Ukraine is the creation of jobs and livelihoods especially for internally displaced persons and the host communities most affected by conflict.
Key areas of work:
- Business Grants Contest. We provide grants (up to USD 10,000) to help launch, restore or expand small business activities;
- Training and consulting programme provides people with knowledge of business planning, alternative funding, legal, marketing and finance issues;
- Business promotion: motivation campaigns featuring success stories of our grantees, business expos for SMEs, support in running crowdfunding campaigns.
UNDP launches new initiative to create joint purchasing groups in eastern Ukraine
UNDP, with financial support from the government of Poland, is launching a new initiative aimed at creating joint purchasing groups in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts to increase the effectiveness and sustainability of local micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
The initiative will strengthen cooperation between businesses, improve entrepreneurial skills, and help MSMEs establish supply chains with fair market prices.
