Ivan Honcharuk (Ukraine)

Rule of Law and Access to Justice Specialist, United Nations Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme

Ivan joined the UNDP in Ukraine Team as a Rule of Law and Access to Justice Consultant in December 2016. Prior to this, he worked as Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance Project Coordinator at the Norwegian Refugee Council (Luhansk Oblast). From November 2011 to February 2016 he worked as an assistant to the prosecutor of the rayon (district) and city of Sumy Oblast. Ivan is currently implementing projects aimed at improving access to justice for local citizens affected by the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine. The main partners of these projects are local courts of general jurisdiction, the free legal aid system, and civil society organizations.

Ivan holds a diploma in Jurisprudence with honours from the National Academy of Prosecution of Ukraine, with the qualification of lawyer. He is married and has a daughter.
