On May 23, 2019, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine will conduct the Forum on Energy Security of Ukraine. During the event, representatives of the executive bodies, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, municipalities and international organizations, along with diplomats, politicians, public opinion leaders, representatives of NGOs, business, experts and analysts on energy security, energy efficiency and renewable energy will discuss the progress Ukraine has made on the path to energy security. They will also identify decisions to be made at the legislative and regulatory levels to further strengthen energy security, in particular through the implementation of 2035 Energy Strategy of Ukraine.

The Forum is being conducted by UNDP as part of the “Ukraine Energy Security Expert Hub” project, which is being implemented with the generous support of the American people. The project is aimed at enhancing the capacity of the Government of Ukraine to develop and implement its energy security policy, as well as to further strengthen Ukraine’s harmonization with the EU acquis communautaire under the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.
