Results of the Call for Proposals “Grants Programme of the “Strengthening the Community Resilience in Kherson Oblast” (SCR) phase II project

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine is pleased to announce the final results from the Call for Proposals held under phase II of the “Strengthening the Community Resilience in the Kherson Oblast” (SCR) project, funded by the UK Government and implemented by UNDP.

The grant programme is aimed to bolster the resilience of communities in the Kherson Oblast, helping them to access vital services and improving access to high-quality healthcare, educational, and administrative services for the population with a focus on vulnerable groups.

Non-governmental organizations partnered with businesses and/or local authorities to implement economic and social projects strengthening community resilience in Kherson Oblast, competing for grant support from the SCR project. Overall, 80 applications were submitted.

According to the decision of the Grant Selection Committee* of 16 September 2021, the five projects recommended for funding are as follows: 

  1. “Creating a socially adaptive environment for hearing-impaired people as part of "Country without barriers for deaf" programme in Kherson Oblast”, the "Social Unity" movement NGO (Kyiv oblast);
  2. “Programme of digital transformation of Kherson Oblast, Innovation Development Centre NGO (Kyiv oblast);
  3. “Digital Kherson Oblast”, “Youth of Dnipro” NGO (Dnipro oblast);
  4. “Land management system in the communities of Kherson Oblast”                                                            “Centre for cross-border cooperation” NGO (Chernihiv oblast);
  5.  “Library is a modern educational hub”, “Kherson Regional Library Society” NGO (Kherson oblast).

Also, 26 territorial communities in Kherson Oblast will benefit from goods procured by UNDP. The overall purpose of this initiative is to support partnership projects seeking to strengthen community resilience amid the region’s multi-facetted crisis, and enhance public trust in local, regional, and national authorities.

*The Grant Selection Committee is an independent decision-making body, appointed by the project board and consisting of representatives from the UNDP Regional Development Programme, UN Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme, UNDP Democratic Governance Portfolio, UNDP Energy and Environment Portfolio, British Embassy and Kherson Oblast State Administration.
