Report

The Third Judicial Forum for Judges from Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts took place on 31 October 2019, organised by the United Nations Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme in close cooperation with national NGO “The Association for the Development of Judicial Self-Government in Ukraine”. The main purpose of the Forum was to discuss practices and challenges related to administering justice in the context of armed conflict in eastern Ukraine.

The report on the results of the Forum contains conclusions and recommendations elaborated by the participants of the event on several issues such as:

1. Pension and social security system for the conflict-affected population in eastern Ukraine.
2. Establishment of birth/death facts in armed conflict, inheritance-related issues, and compensation for the destroyed private housing.
3. Realisation and protection of the rights of domestic violence survivors in conflict-affected areas.
