2017 marks the 30th anniversary of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer – one of the most successful international environmental agreements, ratified by all countries worldwide. The Document demonstrated, which positive results can be achieved through the joint efforts of international organizations, governments, enterprises, communities and individuals.

On the occasion of the Protocol signing anniversary and with a view to attracting the international community’s attention to the global environmental issues, specifically the ozone layer, the UN General Assembly proclaimed 16 September as the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer.
